Zen Bento in Eagle

Food was good, prices are fair. Was sort of slowish

We love the Zen chicken salad with peanuts, brown rice, soy ginger and z-nut sauce. Have been eating here since 2000, and are very happy with new location on Apple street in SE Boise. For a healthy quick lunch or dinner, Zen Bento cannot be beat!

Decent Bento Bowls.Greeted by a pleasant cashier today. Tasty Chicken Brown Rice (w/Z-Nut) bowl, but they are expensive for what you get. After all... I'm pretty sure they cook the chicken on a propane grill behind the building. Limited inside seating, but outside seating is also available when it's nice out. Parking is hard to find during lunchtime, but you can often find a spot in front of the neighboring senior center.

Great food, too small of an interior dinning room

Based on the poor customer service and the measly offering of what you pay for, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Quality food, quick service, and a great location in downtown eagle.

I've been eating here for over 10 years! And I'll continue to eat here but 3 stars for their awful policy of not having beef ready past lunch! If I'm having a late lunch I don't go to zen bento anymore because you'll be waiting as long as if you went to a sit down restaurant!

The location is great right in downtown Eagle with street parking or parking lot available. The staff is very friendly and so incredibly good with kids. The staff member actually took them time to ask my kid what he wanted to order and listened. It was really sweet to watch. The food is fresh and always tastes good. They even offer half sizes. I like the Eagle location better than the downtown one because they really take the time to connect with their customers.

People complain about the price, but you get quality food that isn't slapped together fast-food. Great location to have a quick hearty meal!

I had a internship in The land Group of Eagle, and in my first day of my internship, My Boss bought me Lunch in Zen Bento. First time have this kind food in the US, and after that I came almost everyday. Now, I'm going to leave Idaho, and I will never forget this nice place.

It's good food, quick and I've enjoyed every meal here. It feels like one of the healthier places to eat in Eagle.

This place and the people that work there are awesome. I literally eat here 3+ times a week. The food is always delicious (especially the salmon bento with ginger soy sauce) and the service is top notch. They even say hi by name to a large chunk of people that eat here. The fact that they are on a first name basis with many of their customers should tell you two important things... 1. They care a lot about their customers. 2. Their customers eat here enough to be called out by name. Very cool lunch spot location too. Go check them out if you haven't been here before. Two thumbs up!

I used to go to the location in downtown Boise all the time. I always got the same menu item the seared ahi with ginger soy dressing and white rice. This was definitely not as good as it used to be in fact my ahi was extremely fishy and had a lot of sinew, gristle, and bones and the rice was really soggy. I understand im eating partially raw fish but i love sushi and know what it should taste like.. My husband had the chicken and noodles and also said the noodles were over cooked and he also used to come here a lot for lunch while at work downtown.

In the past their food has been fabulous! Today the salmon felt like it was microwaved not grilled..hope quality improves.. Other than that it was good.

They are open till 8 but yet if you come here in the evening they will most likely be out of some items. Service from the counter is lousy. Wait can be long. Not as impressed with this location as the downtown location. Love Zen Bento but this location for dinner doesn't impress.

I am going to step out and give this one 5 stars simply because the food was so delicious. Friendly staff and reasonable price helped. Clean restroom as well. No veteran discount given.

Just called to order 2 POKE BOWLS. She took all my info only to tell me "we are out of poke!" Why didn't she say that when I first ordered?Funny thing is, my wife told me this place was a joke. I thought maybe they were just having a bad day and i would try them out. Now I get hear I told you so!

This is a great place! Its allergy friendly, and the staff is fantastic. The food is always very fresh and filling. They never stiff you on the portions. The variety is amazing - ahi tuna, salmon, chicken, tofu, and more; with a selection of sauces, too for every pallet. The prices aren't bad either for the quality food you receive. I definitely rate Zen Bento a 5 star every day!

Vegetables we're not fresh, browning around the edges. Too skimpy with the sauce.

Eagle-Very fast, obviously precooked. Rice in a bowl with a few toppings. Nothing to write home about.

The food was great, service was friendly, wait time was a little long and it wasn't too busy either. Definitely one of the best teriyaki places in town though! Give it a shot if you want something a little more off the beaten path.

I wanted to like this place because it is close by but the food is not good in my opinion. It feels plastic and fake. This was the second time and a different location but it tasted the same. The guys are nice.

It is fine.... I feel like the food is just okay. It is always kinda dry. I always feel like the broccoli is under cooked. The staff are always nice. And are happy to give you extra sause. I just wish the food was a bit better...

The best food for a quick bite!

I was expecting something like a poke bowl, so the cooked salmon wasn't what I expected. But over all not bad.

Reminds me of a Portland restaurant being built in a older house. Pritty good food also...

A sad attempt at asian inspired food. Customer service was great so an extra star there. However, the bowl tasted like a frozen microwaveable rice bowl you get at the grocery store.

Nice people.Food was good (at first) even bought extra to take home.It was the second thing I'd eaten that day and I was fine till about an hour later.Now I'm pretty sure I have the most violent case of food poisoning I've ever had.Never coming back. Good Luck.

The salmon bento with ginger soy is delicious, and the employees always look happy when you walk in! Totally recomend going there!

Friendly staff! Good selection and I think it competes well with similar restaurants in the area such as Happy Teriyaki. I recommend this place to all of my co-workers and peers.

Decent food but nothing spectacular. If you're looking for a healthy option, it's not a bad choice, but you're basically paying for rice, steamed veggies, and a protein on top. It does seem expensive for what you get.

This has been a staple in my life for the last 20 years. Zen Bento started out as a tiny little place on 10th street in downtown Boise, now there are 3 locations in the Valley! While they have expanded, they haven't lost any of their quality or taste. I love the Zen Salad, with brown rices, extra chicken, peanuts, green onions, ginger soy, and Zen sauce. YUM!

Always great service, yummy food and a fair price. Sit outside at one of the shady tables and enjoy the good life for a bit.

Love the food and we love to sit on the patio! Makes for a great lunch spot!
